Angel with vellum wings

I made this card with two challenges in mind- Always use Rubber and Time Out.

The stamps I've used are an angel one from Kort&Godt, but since her wings weren't very visible I used other stamps (brand unknown) to make wings with vellum and white EP. I cut around the head the get the wings inserted and tucked behind her head. The sentiment on the tag is from a Hero Arts set and the background is a Tim Holtz one.

I was inspired by this photo:

I usually find photo challenges quite difficult as I can't seem to concentrate on just a couple of things. But with this card it was quite easy. First, pink paper, gessoed and stamped with the angel.  Dies chosen as they came to mind seeing the shape of the pink bench. Additional wings as above the bench. The white ribbon with roses, as in the photo, to add some more embellishment, along with the white seambinding ribbon and tag. And the pearl string.
Then I tried to mount the die cut panels onto a plain white card base. I thought it didn't work, looked bland. Then I tried an embossed snowflakes background. Too messy. Then, as seeing the pattern on the mirror in the photo I thought of my Tim Holtz stamp. I chose to keep the wooden like look by using kraft paper and heat embossing with white EP.
This was a fun card to make, I had flow and found everything I needed to use quite easily - which isn't always the case...

So this card is for:
TIME OUT Challenges - #70 Photo Challenge
Always Use Rubber - #4 Things with wings

Pia, this is a true piece of art!! You has been very inspiring by the photo and the whole creation came out really stunning!! I pinned your card

The wings of vellum are very unusual and look just gorgous!! Such a genial idea! Love the roses, too, they are a perfect detail to match the angel! All the frames and the embellies give the idea of ancient laces and your own patterned paper is just fabulous, if I haven't read that you have made it with a stamp and the white EP, I have never tought this! Amazing vintage work!

It's just beautiful! Enjoyed reading your adventures making this one, and that's one of my fav ornate S/B. Perfect to display your sweet angel, and clever way to add her wings as you did. The colors are very subtle and work splendidly together - even though you're using a neutral type of palette. Love the DP that is inspired by the photo pattern, and that's not something I could do either! I'm so glad you thought of 'items' and better yet, could find them!!! TFS & it's one of your best cards (and that's saying quite a lot too!) Hugs
